Corporate social responsibility

As a global organisation we have a duty to maintain a sustainable approach to the economic, social and environmental impact that we have as a business and our commitment is to integrate this sense of civic stewardship with all of our operations.

We are proud to support UNICEF whose work in more than 190 countries and territories saves children's lives, defends their rights and helps them fulfil their potential from early childhood through to adolescence.

We are committed to protecting our natural environment and reducing our carbon impact. Cambridge Education Group is working with the World Land Trust and Viet Nature Conservation Centre to protect the entire Khe Nuoc Trong forest. This is an area covering nearly 50,000 acres and by protecting and aiding the recovery of the forest, approximately 50,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions will be absorbed each year. Khe Nuco Trong is home to 41 Threatened species listed on the IUCN Red List, 8 of which are endangered and 6 of which are critically endangered.

Taking part in the Clipper Round the World race as part of the crew was a once in a lifetime experience.  I began as a complete novice, but after 4 weeks of intensive training, I joined the race from Australia to the Philippines.   It was 26 days non-stop, dealing with everything that mother nature could throw at us, such as tropical storms, extreme heat and humidity.  It pushed me both mentally and physically, however, I also experienced some magical moments - the pods of dolphins following the boat were a real highlight, the stars at night were magical, and we also got to experience total isolation from the outside world, which is not easy in today’s world.   Alongside all of this I was able to raise nearly £1000 for a magnificent cause, UNICEF.  It was an experience I’ll never forget.
